How do you stand out from your competitors?

This is how we use "Enthusiasm" to stand out

Recently my colleague became Jesper and I interviewed for "Social Selling Radio Podcast” about our “WHY”, i.e. why we run our company and how we use it to stand out in the market for outsourcing IT operations and support.

This is how we use "Enthusiasm" to stand out

Recently my colleague became Jesper and I interviewed for "Social Selling Radio Podcast” about our “WHY”, i.e. why we run our company and how we use it to stand out in the market for outsourcing IT operations and support.

In this context, I will use the opportunity to share our experiences in the hope of being able to inspire others to work on this topic.

What is the "WHY" of a size?

Let me start by defining what "WHY" is when it comes to companies. It is basically about being clear about why we run the business that we do.

Here, most people probably think that it is mostly about making money. But it doesn't. Making money is a result of what we do. Our "WHY" is bigger than money. This is the core of the way we collaborate with our customers.

To find our "WHY", we have used the so-called "The Golden Circle" model, which was invented by the American anthropologist and author Simon Sinek. He was curious to find out what it is that makes some companies and individuals manage to stand out significantly from others in their communication with customers and the outside world.

There are three elements in "The Golden Circle":

  • "WHAT" (what are we selling)
  • "HOW" (how do we do it)
  • "WHY" (why we do it).

And it is exactly these three elements that Leif Carlsen from Social Selling Company has asked in an interview. In this podcast, we get into why we started working with our "WHY", what process we went through, and how we concretely use it in everyday life.

What is our "WHY" then?

Our "WHY" is about creating excitement. The exact wording is "We will create excitement". And we want that both with our own employees, but also to a large extent with our customers, whom we help on a daily basis with strategic IT advice, operations and support.

Creating excitement originally dates back to our own youth and our passion to "nerd" with IT technology and make it work - even when the technology occasionally teases. This passion has gone and become the focal point of our desire to inspire and help others.

I would like to share our experiences with you

As I started with, through this podcast and this blog post, I want to share our experiences with the concept of "WHY" in the hope that it might help someone in my network to find their own. In my experience, by having a clear definition of one's "WHY", it is easier to use it as a firmly rooted part of everyday life. It also makes it easier for us to stand out to both current and future customers.
