In the late summer of 2015, Microsoft's new operating system Windows 10 was released. Our expectations for the new system were high, especially because Windows 10 is the last version of Windows as we know it today. In the future, Microsoft will focus on improving the operating system continuously with more and smaller free updates, instead of fewer and larger paid version upgrades.
At the beginning, we were a bit reluctant about the new operating system, as it contained certain initial difficulties. However, that changed after a major update to Windows 10 (called Threshold 2), which came out at the end of last year. With the update, Microsoft had managed to solve the childhood diseases and at the same time significantly increase stability.
Windows 10 is generally well-functioning and contains new advantages. One of the biggest news is the new Start and notification menu. The new notification menu acts as a notification center for your programs and collects all relevant information. The familiar Start menu from Windows 7 is back in a more modern version. In addition, Microsoft has taken pains to make Windows 10 compatible with older programs, so that almost everyone can upgrade without problems. In addition, Microsoft has introduced the Windows Store, which is the entrance to their new venture on a uniform platform across devices. With the Windows Store and Universal Apps, future apps will work on both computers, tablets, phones and TVs.
Another noteworthy novelty is the new browser called Edge. Windows 10 also includes Internet Explorer 11, but on the desktop it is Edge that is available. The new browser is a lightning fast, minimalist and smart web browser. It is the first time in a long time that a Microsoft browser can compete with, for example, Chrome and Firefox.
We can thus vouch for the new Windows 10 and highly recommend upgrading to the new operating system, which contains a number of new useful and improved functions.
Windows 10 is free to download until July 29, 2016, provided your computer is running Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1. Microsoft has made it easy for you to manually download Windows 10 through their upgrade tool published here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
